The Anjolique Dance Company (ADC) established in 2016, by the Creative Director, Ms. Tricia Greaux, is
celebrating its 20 th Anniversary this year, with a number of activities. To support the culture of moving
towards a more inclusive St. Kitts and Nevis, the Anjolique Dance Company launched the Rhythm Project
which teaches children and young persons living with disabilities about dance and culture.
The Advancement of Children Foundation granted the Rhythm Project with $25 540 EC to support the
launch, dance and culture lessons and capacity building which included an introduction to sign language
to increase communication between the dance teachers and the trainees.
Phase 2 of the Rhythm Project included a showcase and this was partially supported by the Repair
Campaign with $10 000 EC, under the theme “Repairing the RHYTHM of our Cultural Identity.” The
hybrid showcase (dance videos and live performances) took the form of a tour around St. Kitts with each
stop educating about an aspect of our culture. Persons living with disabilities performed dance pieces
with dancers of the Anjolique Dance Company- Asherah Brandy, Kodi Edwards, Tasia Jones and Gabrielle
Williams.
The hosts were Mr. Aquanje Robinson (ADC Project Management Division) and Ms. Elsie Harry (The
Repair Campaign Community Leader). The beat of the drums echoed throughout the Antioch Baptist
Church (ABC) from both the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School drummers as well as the Turn
Around Agenda drummers. Praise and worship led by trainees of Ade’s Place with a liturgical dance by
