Outrage over murder of Sgt. Dwight Davis

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 9, 2018 – Growing concern about the recent murder of Sgt. Dwight Davis of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

The veteran police officer was found shot to death on May 3, with multiple gunshot wounds on his body. No arrest has been made.

“What the hell is going on? This is not making tourists to come back to St. Kitts/Nevis and that will be a travesty for your economy. Something has to be changed. Tourists and residents want to feel safe wherever they go. Time to get your sh.t together,” said Carol Chadwick Williams.

“Police found shot multiple times by the railroad, robberies. Enough is enough. Every day I read about a killing, accident possibly on purpose, robbery,” said Williams, who lives in New Jersey.

“Nobody still knows a clear motive for Davis assassination. Imagine the supervisor of the Sandy point police station gunned down in cold blood by merciless criminal elements. What kind of message is this sending to our nation and authorities? Are criminal elements defying law enforcement agencies efforts to stamp out crime in SKN,” asked Robert Wing.

Shirbon Miller posted: “It’s a dam shame. In my 18 years as a policeman in St. Kitts and Nevis, no police officer was ever murdered; people had more respect for the police. Where are these guns coming from? People used to walk all hours of the night without fear, beat patrol officers never used to carry guns. We carried batons. It is becoming like Trinidad and Jamaica. It is the American way of life! Guns, Guns, Guns – crooked politicians and civil servants, crooked police and custom officers, sad to say it will get worse.”

“What is going on in St. Kitts?” asked Neville Edmead.
