Basseterre, St.Kitts (May 26th, 2018):-Opposition Leader Dr. DENZIL Douglas led approximately 80 supporters in a procession through the streets of Basseterre on Fridayafternoon. Opposition Leader Douglas told the media that his intension in leading the march was to bring pressure on Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris to resign over recent allegations and opposition charges of corruption. The march certainly did not live up to the expectation of the Opposition as the small turnout was further compounded by angry drivers who felt the march was nothing more than a nuisance on a busy Friday afternoon. The Opposition SKN Labour Party supporters who participated in the March widely expressed their optimism about their chances at the next elections despite a small and dissapointing turnout of less than 100 after weeks of promising thousands of marchers. It was unclear whether anymore protest marches were planned and if the opposition were contemplating a different strategy to bring requisite pressure on PM Harris, as the Friday afternoon protest certainly did nothing to move the dial upward and forward for the Douglas led labour party and their hopes of returning to office anytime soon.
The March culminated on the Bay Rd. at the Ferry Terminal .
