ST. KITTS AND NEVIS CONGRATULATES BAHAMAS ON ATTAINING 44 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 10, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) –Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, took the opportunity today to extend sincere congratulations to the Government and people of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas as the CARICOM nation celebrates its 44th anniversary of Independence.

“I wish to commend you on the remarkable strides your country has taken since you embarked on your journey over four decades ago. You have virtually served as beacon for small states to emulate as we chart our respective economic and social development paths,” Prime Minister Harris told Bahamas’ Prime Minister, the Honourable Hubert Minnis, in a congratulatory letter.

Dr. Harris reminded Prime Minister Minnis of the long history of cooperation shared between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Bahamas within and outside of the Caribbean Community, spanning the fields of sports, financial services, tourism, and legal education, whereby the movement of our people has helped to enrich the culture of the region.

“I am confident that this rich legacy will continue under your stewardship as prime minister of your proud nation,” the prime minister’s letter continued.

Prime Minister Harris availed himself of the opportunity to renew the assurances of his highest esteem and consideration, and extended on behalf of the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis best wishes, prosperity, good health and peace, to Prime Minister Minnis and the people of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
