Beers and Guinness sobered up by defeats in Constituency Number Seven Domino League

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 26, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — The seventh segment of the second round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition delivered sobering results for two domino clubs with alcohol-themed names on Tuesday September 25.

What is ironic is that the two domino clubs, Beers and Guinness, have Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village as their home base. They were the ones who entertained their opponents at their home base but by the end of play, they were both left reeling from the hard and well executed thrashing they received at the hands of the visitors. Molineux whitewashed Beers 13-0, and Unity beat Guinness 13-3.

It was an evening of intrigues as the one team that was just last week hailed as the one to watch, received a thrashing they will want to forget and forget very soon. Parsons Domino Club, one of the two from Constituency Number Six taking part in the tournament, travelled to the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project where they beat frontrunners Giants 13-6.

The second team from Constituency Number Six, Saddlers Domino Club, travelled to Mansion Village where they met the home team Christchurch Domino Club at the Domino House. The Zeyn Pencheon-led Christchurch ensured that the visitors would return home empty-handed by handing the Stephen Gilbert-led Saddlers Domino Club 13-6.

The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project was also the venue for the game between the defending champions Lodge against Small Corner Bar. Lodge who were at home ended up beating the visitors 13-5, while the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux was the venue of the game where Unstoppable beat Sylvers 13-5.

Of the three remaining games in the fourth segment of the second round that were not played on Thursday September 13 due to the passage of Tropical Storm Isaac, Lodge beat Unity 13-10 at Cuban Bar on Monday September 24, while Beers were awarded a walkover win 13-0 after Phillips were unable to raise a full team. Sylvers are expected to meet Small Corner Bar at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village on Sunday September 30.

Eighth segment of the second round of the round-robin stage in the 23rd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition will be held on Thursday September 27, with action at four venues. Unity will meet Small Corner Bar at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, while Domino House in Mansion will have Unstoppable coming up against Christchurch.

The Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will be the venue of two games, where Saddlers will be playing against Phillips, and Sylvers will be facing the home team Molineux. Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village will also be the venue of two games, where Guinness will come up against Lodge, and Beers will be facing Giants.
