Verchilds High School Career Week :Theme: Alternative Career Pathways
As part of the Verchilds High School Career Week the Guidance Counselling Department hosted a Career Exhibition for the second form students and their parents today 23rd May, 2019 at the school.
The aim of this initiative was to sensitize the students and their parents about the subject choices that are offered for the CSEC Program which starts at form three. Therefore, departments such as English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Science, Geography, Home Economics, Agricultural Science, Industrial Atrs, Business, Foreign Languages and Physical Education provided insight into what career paths can be chart with the various subject options and a heightened interest was fostered for the subjects. The Counseling Department was on hand to share information about CFBC and the courses that are offered as well as the prerequisites that are needed for these courses. Guidance was also given to the parents that they can utilise to help their children make informed decisions about their future careers. Subject Selection Forms were distributed to the parents which would spark some discussion between them and their children as they are guided to choose wisely for their future careers. These forms they would return to the counselors by next Friday.
