ST KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL CATERING TO DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PATRONS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 15, 2023 (SKNIS): Differently-abled individuals will be able to enjoy the 25th edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival (SKMF) in person, as organisers are working to ensure the annual world-class event creates memorable experiences for all patrons.

On the June 14 edition of the radio and television programme InFocus, Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Marsha Henderson, said that the government’s creation of a ministry dedicated to disability issues is a clear signal of its intent to advance meaningful changes that improve the lives of the differently-abled.

“We have spaces in the VIP areas and even spaces on the ground,” she stated, assuring differently-abled holders of the appropriate ticket for the SKMF.

This progressive move is welcomed and marks a new standard for the entertainment and cultural spectacle, which showcases the best local, regional and international acts in the music industry.

The general access areas of the Warner Park Cricket Stadium that will be used to allow patrons into the venue for the St. Kitts Music Festival are also friendly for persons with disabilities. However, persons who are blind or partially sighted are strongly encouraged to be accompanied by an aid to lend assistance.

Minister Henderson said that she is pleased that there is “access to the venue, space is on the grounds and even in the stands so that we can accommodate persons with disabilities.”

The St. Kitts Music Festival runs from June 22 to 24, 2023.
