⛔ TRAFFIC NOTICE⛔
Following the urgent piping repair work earlier this week, the Water Department will be carrying out road repair work on the Bay Road in the vicinity of the General Post Office. Motorists are therefore informed that the portion of Bay Road between Fort Street and West Independence Square Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 am on Thursday, 13th July 2023.
To facilitate the smooth flow of traffic as a result of this riad closure, the following traffic changes will be implemented:
- Parking will be restricted on the mountain side of Bank Street
- Vehicular traffic will be allowed to turn right from the Bay Road into West Independence Square Street.
- Motor omnibuses will be permitted to take a right into West Independence Square Street, onto Bank Street, down Fort Street into the Bay Road, and the same route to return to the eastern side of the island.
These changes will be in effect from 7:00 am.
