MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE THANKS FARMERS AND FISHERS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO DEVELOPMENT OF 25 BY 25 AGENDA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
Minister of Agriculture et. al, Hon. Samal Duggins expresses profound gratitude to the farmers, fishers and other agricultural stakeholders across St. Kitts and Nevis who provided him and his team with the necessary feedback and insights used for the successful development of the 25 by 2025 Strategic Plan.
In a brief message shared via his social media platform, Hon Samal Duggins said, “We listened with an open-mind to your insights and ideas, and as a result, we’re moving agriculture forward and making strides towards a food-secure nation.”
He also used the opportunity to remind the farmers and fishers of his respect for their trade and the sacrifices that they make, referring to the food producers as the “backbone of our food system”.
His expression of gratitude comes just hours before the highly anticipated rollout of St. Kitts and Nevis’ 25 by 2025 Comprehensive Strategy, which is expected to help reduce the federation’s food import bill by 25% by 2025.
