In bombshell announcement former chairman of Timothy Harris’ PLP throws support to SKNLP Dr. Terrance Drew
Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 6, 2017 – Douglas Wattley, the former chairman of Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris’ Peoples Labour Party (PLP) has publicly express his support for Dr. Terrance Drew, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party candidate for St. Christopher 8.
“Having consulted with a group of youngsters in the Cayon Community, today, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, I hereby pledge my support of the opposition candidate for Constituency #8 – Dr. Terrance Drew,” said Mr. Wattley in a facebook posting Wednesday.
“I commit to immediately commence to work diligently to ensure the election of Dr. Drew as the next Member of Parliament (MP) for Constituency #8,” said Wattley.
He affirmed that the offer of support “is unsolicited and not made in consultation or collaboration with the Candidate or any other member of the opposition.”
“My decision is guided mainly by the sentiments of the people of the community I love so dearly, particularly the young. I make this offer of assistance with no expectation of personal gain, in return. I am convinced that Dr. Drew would prove to be a better representative of the people of the Constituency than the present representative,” said Wattley in the bombshell announcement.
