CARTY ALLEY WOUNDING INCIDENT UNDER POLICE INVESTIGATION

The Police are investigating a wounding incident that occurred on February 21st, 2024, at Carty Alley in Newtown, St. Kitts. The incident occurred between 10AM and 11AM.

Initial investigations indicate that sixty (60)-year-old Elminda Martinez Gomez, a
Venezuela national resident in St. Kitts, sustained multiple stabbing injuries during an
altercation. Shortly thereafter, Ms Gomez was transported to the Joseph N. France
General Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. She is currently warded in
stable condition.

The Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF)
processed the crime scene and collected some items of evidential value. An
investigation is ongoing and the general public will be kept appropriately abreast of its
