SHIFT SYSTEM ENDS! ALL SCHOOLS RETURN TO FULL DAY INSTRUCTION
Basseterre: St. Kitts, Monday, April 11, 2022:​ Minister of Education, Hon. Jonel Powell
announced an end to the shift system that was adopted by the Ministry of Education to mitigate
the impact of Covid-19 on the student population in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis more
than a year ago.

While getting dressed for her Graduation on Sunday 27th March, 2022, Sherifa Maynard (a form 5 student of the Verchilds High School) took ill and was forced to be hospitalized. Consequently, she missed the ceremony and was feeling very distraught. After four (4) days of being hospitalized, principal Meguel Thomas joined her at Shadan photo studio on Friday 1st April, 2022 to hand over her certificate and wish her well.

KAL ASSESSMENT DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION SYSTEM AND MAXIMIZE POTENTIAL OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 31, 2022 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Education has embarked on an initiative to further strengthen the education sector in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis through the rollout of a new national assessment dubbed Key Stage Assessment of Learning (KAL), the results of which will be used in improving the education system so that teachers and students will maximize teaching and learning opportunities within and without the classroom.
