EDUCATORS THROUGH TARGETED WORKSHOPS
Basseterre: St. Kitts, Thursday, September 03, 2026: The Curriculum Development Unit (CDU) hosted a series of workshops from Tuesday, September, 01 to Wednesday,September 02. The goal of the sessions was to analyze the constituents of the OECS Harmonized Primary Curriculum (OHPC) undergoing pilot implementation, enhancing teachers’ expertise, abilities, and classroom methods.
The workshops were carefully categorized and tailored to meet the specific needs of educators at different levels of the education system. The sessions focused on three key areas: addressing issues emerging from the piloted curriculum, preparing teachers for the rollout of the Grade 3 Enhanced Mathematics Curriculum, and introducing secondary school French teachers to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Government Launches 2026 Back-to-School Voucher for Every Eligible Child as Cost-of-Living Support Continues
Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 17, 2026 (PMO) – As families across St. Kitts and Nevis prepare for the start of a new academic year, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is again moving to ease the financial pressures on households with the launch of its 2026 Back-to-School Voucher Programme, providing EC$250 for every eligible child enrolled in a registered educational institution across the Federation.

SCHOOL BUS FLEET STRENGTHENED AHEAD OF NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
Basseterre, St. Kitts, Thursday, August 13, 2026: When students return to school on Sept. 07,
they will do so with a much improved fleet of school buses, as the Ministry of Education
continues its efforts to enhance transportation services for students across St. Kitts.
A major development ahead of the new school year is the return of the Ministry’s largest school
bus, which was out of service for much of the last academic year.
