The Department of Environment is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as a Consultant for a period of four months from June 01- September 30. The successful candidate will be working on a Mid Term Review for the Project “Advancing the Nagoya Protocol in countries of the Caribbean region including Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Republic of Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.
The Mid-Term Review will use a participatory approach whereby key stakeholders are kept informed and consulted throughout the review process.
Applicants should have an advanced university degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area; a minimum of five years of technical / evaluation experience, including of evaluating large, regional or global programmes and using a Theory of Change approach; a broad understanding of access and benefit sharing in the context of the Nagoya Protocol; a Pproficiency in time management along with excellent writing skills in English; a team leadership experience and, where possible, knowledge of the United Nations (UN) system, specifically of the work of UN Environment.
