SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATORS PARTICIPATE IN UNESCO HYBRID MIL WORKSHOP

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Friday, June 18, 2026:​ A cohort of special education teachers assembled
at the St. Kitts Cooperative Credit Union’s Conference Room on Thursday, to participate in a
one-day UNESCO Media Information Literacy (MIL) Training for Educators. The activity
conducted in a hybrid format was hosted by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and catered
to educators in St. Kitts and Nevis as well as Grenada.

The learning objective of this session centered around instructing educators on ways to improve
their professional growth using MIL while championing the use of Google Classroom to promote
classroom inclusivity, thereby enriching the teaching and learning environment and facilitating
remote learning.

MOE HOSTS PRE-SERVICE TRAINING FOR FUTURE EDUCATORS AHEAD OF THE  2026 – 2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Thursday, June 18, 2026:​ On Wednesday, June 18, the Ministry of Education commenced its annual pre-service training for future teachers. The opening ceremony took place at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Auditorium, under the theme: Transforming Education Through Self-Renewal, Holistic Partnerships and Digital Solutions.

Chief Education Officer, Mr. Francil Morris expressed gratitude to the aspiring educators for showing interest in teaching and outlined the triumphs and challenges of teaching.

EDUCATORS COMPLETE IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Friday, June 12, 2026:​ On Tuesday June 09, forty-seven (47) teachers
were recognized at a commencement ceremony, for successfully completing the 2025-2026 In-
service Training Programme hosted by the Ministry of Education. The commencement ceremony
held at the conference room at Windsor University centered on the premise of “Transforming
Education, through Self-Renewal, Holistic Partnership and Digital Solutions.”
