On Friday, 10th January 2025, the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court will mark the commencement of the New Law Year with its traditional Ceremonial Opening proceedings under the theme Accessibility and Awareness -The ECSC Bridging the GapThrough Community EngagementThis year, the host Member State is Saint Lucia, where the first scheduled sitting for the Court of Appeal for 2025 will occur.

Dequan Dore of East Street, Newtown, St. Kitts, has been charged for the offence of Possession of Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life. The offence was committed on January 2nd, 2025, in Newtown. Mr Dore was charged on January 4th, 2025, at the Basseterre Police Station.

Steadroy Jules of St. Paul’s, St. Kitts, has been charged for the offences of Conveying Cannabis into His Majesty’s Prison; Conveying Wrappers into His Majesty’s Prison; and Conveying Tobacco into His Majesty’s Prison. The offences were committed on January3rd, 2025, at His Majesty’s Prison. Mr Jules was charged on January 5th, 2025, at the Basseterre Police Station.
