 Mickail “Mitch” Liburd Shot and killed Monday night

Son of Hon. Ian “Patches” Liburd killed by gunfire

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 28, 2018 – Multiple sources have confirmed that the son of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Minister of Public Infrastructure, Posts, Urban Development and Transport, Hon. Ian “Patches” Liburd was killed by gunfire last night (Monday 27, August).

According to reliable reports Mickail “Mitch” Liburd was ambushed by at least three armed and masked men in the Pine Gardens, Shadwell area shortly after 10 p.m. as he got out of his car.

The young Liburd was reportedly shot several times.

DEFENCE FORCE GETS POLICE POWERS AS GOVERNMENT STEPS UP ITS CAMPAIGN IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME

 

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, August 25, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) are now empowered with policing powers effective Friday, August 24, 2018. The Governor General, His Excellency Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, acted on the advice of the Cabinet to enhance the crime fighting capabilities in the country by extending Police Powers to the Defence Force for a period of six months.
