The Interim Chapter of the Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) St. Kitts and Nevis joins the global maritime community in celebrating the International Day for Women in Maritime 2026 under the theme: “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Gender Equality for Maritime Excellence.” 

This message was echoed by Ms. Adeola Moore, the first female Chief Executive Officer of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), who reaffirmed SCASPA’s commitment to advancing the participation, leadership, and empowerment of women across the maritime and blue economy sectors.

MFCR Old Road United Jets Crowned 2025/2026 National Bank Group/SKNFA Premier League Champions


Basseterre, St. Kitts — MFCR Old Road United Jets have etched their names into the history
books after capturing the 2025/2026 National Bank Group/SKNFA Premier League title and
completing the season unbeaten, becoming the first club in the Premier League era to achieve the
feat in St. Kitts and Nevis football.


Old Road sealed the championship on Sunday, May 17, at the National Bank Group Technical
Center with a commanding 4-2 victory over Development Bank St. Peters FC.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Friday, May 15, 2026:
Following SIM Caribbean workshops held on
Wednesday, 13, and Thursday, 14 May, hosted in St. Kitts and Nevis, the delegation from
UNESCO paid a courtesy call on Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Minister of Education.


The delegation, which was in the Federation for the SIM Caribbean Media and Information
Literacy workshops, included Mr. Eric Falt, Regional Director, UNESCO Regional Office for
the Caribbean, and Mr. Paul Hector, Advisor for Communications and Information, UNESCO
Regional Office for the Caribbean.
