Prime Minister Drew to Attend World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C.
 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 16, 2025 (PMO) — Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew will travel to Washington, D.C. next week to participate in the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF), April 22-26, where he will engage in high-level discussions on matters critical to the economic future of St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean region.

During an April 15 radio interview, Prime Minister Drew provided insight into the purpose and urgency of the visit. “We will be discussing a number of financial issues, economic issues, and so forth, especially in light of the geopolitics and the tariffs and so forth, our CBI programme, and the fact that we are seeking to transform.”

Prime Minister Drew to Present Landmark Comprehensive Pension Bill for Government Auxiliary Employees

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, April 16, 2025 (PMO) —In a historic move to address long-standing inequities, Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew announced that his administration will introduce a Comprehensive Pension Bill before the National Assembly this Thursday, April 17th. 
 

This legislation, according to the Prime Minister, aims to provide long-overdue pension security to thousands of Government Auxiliary Employees (GAEs), including crossing guards, environmental workers, hospital maids, and drain maintenance staff, who have served the nation without adequate post-retirement support.

Kishorn Williams of Lower Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, St. Kitts, has been charged for the
offences of Possession of an Imitation Firearm, Shooting At With Intent, and Possession
of a Firearm with Intent to Prevent Lawful Apprehension. The offences were committed
on April 5th, 2025, at Pine Gardens, Shadwell, St. Kitts.
