The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, the smallest independent country in the Western Hemisphere, has witnessed tremendous advances in information and communication technology (ICT) development under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris.

Prime Minister Harris and his administration have taken a keen interest in modernizing the Government’s technology infrastructure.  Just recently, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis launched its Digital Transformation Survey, which can be accessed via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/goskn.  The survey will end in early June.

ST. KITTS AND NEVIS SIGNS DECLARATION ON GENDER RESPONSIVE STANDARDS AND STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 22, 2019 (SKNIS): In order to take action to address the urgent need for greater women’s empowerment, some 55 organizations worldwide, including St. Kitts and Nevis, signed the Declaration on Gender Responsive Standards and Standards Development on May 09, 2019.

Director of the St. Kitts-Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS), Stuart Laplace, was present in Geneva, Switzerland to sign the document.

SHOOTING WITH INTENT IN DIEPPE BAY BEING INVESTIGATED

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2019 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating a shooting incident which occurred on May 21, 2019 at the home Curtis Mitchell.

Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired in the Dieppe Bay area about 11:45 p.m. last night. Investigations so far have revealed that gunshots were fired into the house by an unknown assailant. The house was occupied at the time but no one was injured during the incident.

Members from the Crime Scene Unit visited and processed the scene. Items of evidential value were taken into Police custody.

The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
