CONTINUING CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING IN ST. KITTS-NEVIS BUILDS HUMAN CAPACITY AND ENHANCES TOURISM PRODUCT 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2019 (SKNIS): In order to develop the country’s human capital and further enhance the country’s tourism product, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism will continue its customer service training for all who work on the frontlines of tourism.

Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, mentioned the training during his remarks at the 2019 Tourism Experience Awards held at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel on May 18. He noted that providing excellent customer service is crucial to the country’s tourism product.

INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS ADDED TO ST. KITTS AND NEVIS RESTAURANT WEEK AND ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2019 (SKNIS): International partnerships will be added to two of the Federation’s premier events including the St. Kitts Music Festival and the St. Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week, says Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, during his remarks at the 2019 Tourism Experience Awards on May 18.

The minister stated that the goal is to develop them as drivers of tourism during the traditional low season.

ST. KITTS AND NEVIS RANKS THIRD HIGHEST CRUISE PASSENGER SPEND IN CARIBBEAN 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2019 (SKNIS): Minister of Tourismthe Honourable Lindsay Grant has stated that St. Kitts and Nevis ranks the third highest cruise passenger spend in the Caribbean and is planning to use its marquee port status designation from the cruise lines to increase arrivals, and more importantly boost passenger spend on the island.
During his remarks at the 2019 Tourism Experience Awards held at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel on May 18, Minister Grant stated that preliminary figures and findings from the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Breaux Study on the economic impact of cruise tourism from 2017 to 2018 cruise passenger arrivals increased significantly from the 2014 to 2015 study –up by nearly half.

SERVICE WEAPON RETRIEVED AFTER BEING LOST IN OPERATION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2019 (RSCNPF): A service weapon which was temporarily lost during an operation is now back in Police custody.

On May 17, Officers from the Charlestown Station, while on patrol, visited a local bar where an incident ensued. During the incident, officers restrained a number of persons who were resisting arrest and took them into custody.
