Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 22, 2019 (SKNIS)—His Royal Highness (HRH) The Prince of Wales has announced Postgraduate Commonwealth Scholarships to mark the 70th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth and in recognition of his own 70th birthday. HRH was born on November 14, 1948, and named Charles Philip Arthur George, the eldest child of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and heir apparent to the British throne.

AS A SMALL ISLAND STATE, ST. KITTS AND NEVIS PUNCHES WAY ABOVE ITS WEIGHT, DECLARES THE PRINCE OF WALES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 22, 2019 (SKNIS): As a small island developing state, the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has impressed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales dating back to his visit 46 years ago to his current visit on March 21, 2019, where he was accompanied by his wife Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall.

“I have been particularly struck by the eminent strength of your society,” His Royal Highness said, while highlighting the warm welcome he received from Kittitians and Nevis in 1973 when he first visited as a member of the Royal Navy to his present visit.

ST. KITTS-NEVIS OBSERVES WORLD WATER DAY 2019 UNDER THE THEME “LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND”

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 22, 2019 (SKNIS):  St. Kitts and Nevis joins the international community to commemorate World Water Day 2019, which is celebrated on March 22 every year, as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of such a vital resource.

This year’s celebrations is observed under the theme “Leaving No one Behind”.Minister of Public Infrastructure, the Honourable Ian ‘Patches’ Liburd, reflected on the theme, noting that
“some themes provoke our thoughts in different ways”.
