Thieves target National Bank’s ATM in St. Peter’s

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 17TH 2017 – Police and officials of the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank are tight-lipped over reports of another attempt to break into a National Bank ATM.

According to a reliable source an attempt was made on the evening of Sunday 9th July and early morning of Monday 10th July to break into the bank’s ATM at St. Peters’.

Although Police Crime Scene officers were seen around the ATM, there has been no statement from the law enforcement agency or from National Bank.

This is the third attempt in the past nine months that the National Bank ATM’s were targeted.

Global Lifestyle Forum and NEMA hold disaster preparedness forum in St. Paul’s

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 17TH 2017 – It is the primary responsibility of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to be in a state of preparedness and provide relief to the people affected in the event of a disaster.

That is the view of former St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

Speaking at a Disaster Preparedness Forum in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Dr. Douglas, the Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 6 (Newton Ground to Harris’, Dr. Douglas said Global Lifestyle Foundation, also known by the acronym  “GLF”, said the Disaster Preparedness Forum is aimed at strengthening the capacity of householders by creating an opportunity to learn, to act and to be prepared in the event of a disaster.

GOVERNOR GENERAL SEATON SAYS CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IS VITAL

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 13, 2017 (SKNIS): Governor General, His Excellency Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, commended the nation’s top student athletes who were awarded for outstanding performances at the 2016-2017 Department of Sports Excellence Awards.

The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 13, at Government House and also recognized key contributors to the success of the Department of Sports 2016-2017 programmes. Sir Tapley said he was honoured to host the ceremony at his official residence for the second consecutive year since it was revived in 2016.
