PM Harris not telling the truth says Dr. Martin; the former CMO praised for his professionalism

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 3RD 2017 – Former Chief Medical Officer Dr. Patrick Martin is denying a statement from Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris that he has received compensation for his pre-retirement leave which was abruptly terminated recently.
Dr. Harris told WINNFM’s the Bigger Picture on Sunday: “Dr. Martin has no reasonable and rational expectation to anything other than to get the payment which was properly paid to him, and to me for him to as it were be trying to be making a political hay about this is highly irresponsible and unprofessional.”
But the prominent paediatrician in a statement Thursday said: “I wish to state categorically that to date, I have not received any monies that are due to me as a consequence of my retirement from the public service.”

Cutback on school uniforms, text books for low-income families

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 3RD 2017 – A cutback on the level of assistance to vulnerable groups by the Team Unity coalition of Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris, has created further hardship for low-income families.
Former Minister of Community and Social Development in the Denzil Douglas Labour Administration, Hon. Marcella Liburd has also accused Prime Minister Harris of openly displaying an uncaring attitude towards the wellbeing of the poor families.

National Bank ATM at St. Peter’s still closed

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 3RD 2017 – The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank ATM at St. Peter’s remained closed nearly one month after an unsuccessful attempt to break into the facility.
The attempt was made on the evening of Sunday 9th July or early morning of Monday 10th July reportedly without success.

Drop in the standard of living, high unemployment, trauma stalk St. Kitts and Nevis

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 3RD 2017 – The deteriorating economic climate in St. Kitts and Nevis has led to suffering and a drop in the standard of living, high unemployment and restlessness among the youth deceived by the current Timothy Harris-led PLP/CCM/PAM administration.
“Our people can no longer afford the basics to continue living decently, our young people in particular are languishing and becoming more and more restless as they recognize that they have been comprehensively by a government that used them to and now it has appeared has abused them to get into office in order to enrich themselves and turn their backs on the people,” said Leader of the Opposition and former Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil l. Douglas.
