SECURITY FORCES SEIZE TWO ILLEGAL FIREARMS, COCAINE AND MARIJUANA IN ONGOING OPERATIONS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 05, 2017 (RSCNPF): A Stop and Search Operation on the South East Peninsula on Saturday (August 05) by members of the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force as part of ongoing Operations to ensure Citizen Safety in St. Kitts and Nevis has resulted in the seizure of a quantity of ready for sale cocaine and the detention of one person.
A subsequent execution of Search Warrants by the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Anti-Drug Unit, on a number of properties identified as residences for the individual in custody resulted in the discovery and seizure of large quantity of marijuana at a property in Newtown, and the discovery and seizure a large quantity of cocaine and two illegal firearms with ammunition in Greenlands.

ONGOING “OPERATION MID SWEEP” NETS FIVE (5) ILLEGAL FIREARMS ON AUGUST FIFTH

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 06, 2017 (RSCNPF): Five illegal firearms were seized by Officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force on Saturday (August 05) bringing the total number of illegal firearms seized to date in 2017 to thirty-five, one less than the total for 2016.
The first seizure on Saturday was as a result of the execution of a Search Warrant by the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Anti-Drug Unit on a property in Greenlands. The officers discovered and seized, a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol and a .380 pistol both with several rounds of ammunition. That search was one several carried out as a result of a the discovery of twenty-nine dime bags of cocaine in a vehicle during a Stop and Search by members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force on the Southeast Peninsula earlier Saturday afternoon.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 01, 2017 (RSCNPF): Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley is encouraging all citizens to report abnormal/ suspicious activities seen along the Federation’s coastline in light of an illegal entry by boat incident that was investigated by a Police Patrol on Saturday morning (July 29) and resulted in the capture of very dangerous fugitive from St. Maarten.

PM Harris not telling the truth says Dr. Martin; the former CMO praised for his professionalism

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 3RD 2017 – Former Chief Medical Officer Dr. Patrick Martin is denying a statement from Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris that he has received compensation for his pre-retirement leave which was abruptly terminated recently.
Dr. Harris told WINNFM’s the Bigger Picture on Sunday: “Dr. Martin has no reasonable and rational expectation to anything other than to get the payment which was properly paid to him, and to me for him to as it were be trying to be making a political hay about this is highly irresponsible and unprofessional.”
But the prominent paediatrician in a statement Thursday said: “I wish to state categorically that to date, I have not received any monies that are due to me as a consequence of my retirement from the public service.”
