Ex-sugar workers, families, still waiting to get their “sugar money” from Team Unity

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 15, 2018 – It is nearly three full years and several ex-sugar workers and their families are still waiting for their portion of the US$16 million that the Timothy Harris-led Team Unity Government received from the President of Venezuela His Excellency Nicholas Maduro.

Many dependants of deceased relatives who worked for decades in the sugar industry have still not been paid either.

Letters to PM Harris concerning access to community centres

Leader of the Opposition Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas and Chairperson of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Hon. Marcella Liburd wrote to Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris concerning the access to the community centres.

The letters were delivered to the Prime Minister’s office yesterday, March 15th 2018.
