ST. KITTS & NEVIS SUSPENDS BRITISH AIRWAYS FLIGHTS FROM UK FOR TWO WEEKS OVER NEW VARIANT OF CORONAVIRUS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 23, 2020 (SKNIS): British Airways (BA) flights between the United Kingdom (UK) and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis have been suspended for two weeks, from Saturday, December 26, 2020, to Saturday, January 2, 2021, as a safety measure after a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 Virus (Novel Coronavirus) was discovered in the United Kingdom.

St. Kitts & Nevis Temporarily Suspends British Airways Service from the UK

BASSETERRE (23rd December 2020): St. Kitts & Nevis has temporarily suspended British Airways flights from the UK effective Saturday, December 26, 2020, to January 2, 2021. An update will be given in relation to the Federation resuming service. In addition, any International Traveler who arrives from the UK will be required to quarantine at their hotel and not “Vacation in Place” for the duration of their stay or mandatory 14-day quarantine in the Federation, from December 26, 2020, to January 2, 2021.

Update #6:  Travel Requirements for St. Kitts and Nevis

BASSETERRE (12th December, 2020): St. Kitts & Nevis has added a new property to the list of Travel Approved hotels for International Travelers and a new quarantine property for Nationals/Residents as the twin-island nation welcomes more visitors and returning Nationals/Residents to its shores. All other travel requirements outlined below remain unchanged and should be referred to by those planning a trip to the Federation during Phase 1 of the reopening.
 
All incoming passengers to St. Kitts & Nevis are required to complete the Travel Authorization Form, which can be found at www.knatravelform.kn, prior to their arrival. International travelers must have their negative RT-PCR test and booked accommodation to complete the Travel Authorization Form required for entry. Once the form is completed and submitted, with a valid email address, it will be reviewed, and the visitor will receive an approval letter to enter the Federation (letter as pictured below).

Who would have thought that the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis would be at this juncture yet again? Recently, a letter was sent from the Nevis Air and Seaport Authority (the “Port Authority”) to the operators of Mark Twain informing them that Mark Twain has to rotate its schedule with immediate effect (with a new ferry operator by the name of MV Patience). While I have no objections to a rotating schedule, I found the decision to be unjust, vindictive and discriminatory.
