TWENTY-FOUR (24) FAMILIES TO RECEIVE BRAND NEW HOMES IN EAST BASSETERRE
Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 03, 2019 (SKNIS): Twenty-four (24) families in East Basseterre will receive brand new homes upon completion of the Wellington Road Residences come October 2019, according to the Honourable Ian Patches Liburd, Minister of Public Infrastructure and Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher One during the (April 02) “Community Consultation”, town hall styled meeting held at the Newtown Community Centre.

THE CHURCH PLAYS AN ESSENTIAL ROLE WHEN DEALING WITH CHALLENGES IN ANY SOCIETY, SAYS ST. KITTS-NEVIS’ MINISTER OF ECCLESIASTICAL AFFAIRS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 02, 2019 (SKNIS): The essential role that the church plays within any society, particularly in response to social challenges and natural disasters, was emphasized by Senior Minister and Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs, the Honourable Vance Amory, during his meeting with His Lordship, The Most Reverend Robert A. Llanos, Bishop of the Diocese of St. Johns – Basseterre on Monday, April 01, 2019.

“I believe we have to stay firm and strong in being grounded in the church because when we have our challenges – whether it is man-made, or it is natural – the first thing we do leading up to the hurricane season is ask the church to do intercessory prayers for protection against hurricanes,” said the senior minister.

OLD ROAD BAY REHABILITATION PROJECT PROGRESSING SMOOTHLY
Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 02, 2019 (SKNIS): Construction work on the Old Road Bay Rehabilitation Project is progressing smoothly with land reclamation from the sea already taking place.

Local company Rock and Dirt Ltd. is carrying out the comprehensive project that will result in a new 1.2 kilometre stretch of road being built. The design has a number of safety features to mitigate against falling rocks from the hillside and damage from the sea, which have both been known to occur especially during inclement weather.

2019 Cuba Scholarship

Community Notice

The Government of the Republic of Cuba is pleased to announce the availability of eight (8) scholarships for citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue studies in Cuba.

Four scholarships are available in Medicinal Sciences, one for a Bachelor or Higher Education Career, one in Health Technologies/Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree), and two in Medical Specialties (Post Graduate studies for Graduates from the Latin American School of Medicine ELAM, who work in public health institutions in St. Kitts and Nevis).

Applicants must present certified copies of their birth certificates, high school and CAPE transcripts and certificates, passport information page, immunization card and a police record.

Applications must be received by the Human Resource Management Department on or before Friday, April 12, 2019. For further information please contact the Human Resource Management Department at 467-1040.
