St Kitts and Nevis students Jovansia Matthew and Renell Agard shine at UVI

St Thomas, USVI, October 26, 2019 – Two nationals of St Kitts and Nevis were among four students at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), who were recently awarded scholarships by the National Association of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Title III Administrators Inc, the St John Source and VI Consortium report from a news release
“This is the largest number of students that have won in a single competition in the history of UVI’s participation in the competition, and this speaks well of the quality of the students at the institution,” said UVI Title III Coordinator Dayle Barry.

DCCG intercepts illegal migrants near St. Kitts

A Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard “go-fast” vessel approaching a drifting sailboat on Wednesday afternoon which had illegal migrants on board.

 

PHILIPSBURG–The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard (DCCG) intercepted a drifting sailboat near St. Kitts on Wednesday, October 23, that had 35 illegal migrants on board.

  During a patrol Wednesday afternoon, a DCCG Dash 8 aircraft saw a sailboat that had a group of persons on board waving frantically at the plane.

Nationals want NEXTGEN Labour leaders to hold town hall meetings in their cities, islands Basseterre, St Kitts, October 28, 2019 – Following three extremely successful town hall meetings with Kittitians and Nevisians residing in London and Birmingham, England and Ontario, Canada by the leadership of the NextGEN SKN of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), nationals in the diaspora are clamouring for similar sessions to be held in their cities or islands.

I awoke this morning to the unfortunate news that the Office of my political opponent was partly destroyed as a result of a fire. I am pleased there are no official reports that indicate a loss of life or physical injury.

I would like to express my concern to Mr Steve Wrensford, his team and the property owner.

I implore all to provide any level of support whether spiritual, moral or otherwise to Mr Wrensford, his team and the property owner. These situations are never easy. I wish them God’s blessings as they move forward
