TOURISM EDUCATION PROGRAMME ENSURES THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN SUSTAINING THE FEDERATION’S TOURISM PRODUCT 
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 07, 2019 (SKNIS): Moving towards a plastic free St. Kitts and Nevis is a work in progress, but thanks to the Tourism Education Programme, children as young as primary schoolers are being taught the benefits of recycling in order to sustain the Federation’s tourism product.

Shaline Welcome, Community/Education Tourism Officer, while appearing on the radio-television show “Working for You” on February 06, said that various projects were initiated to teach students about sustainable tourism.

Students were asked to make scrapbooks around the topic “How does pollution affect land and coastal areas and the negative impacts that it would have on our tourism industry?” The second part of the project was the creation of souvenirs from recycled items.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) hereby advises the public that it has retrieved counterfeit $100 Eastern Caribbean notes in St Kitts and Nevis bearing the serial number “WB365443”. The public is urged to be cognisant of counterfeit notes.

Counterfeit notes have no value and persons in possession of them may be prosecuted. Vigilance should therefore be exercised when conducting cash transactions to ensure the authenticity of notes. The features of genuine EC notes include:

Development Bank participates in Gingerland Secondary School’s Career Day

Charlestown, NevisFebruary 7, 2019 (DBSKN) — Manager of the Nevis branch of the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, Ms Hyacinth Pemberton, while acknowledging today’s youth will be tomorrow’s leaders is congratulating the Gingerland Secondary School for preparing the youth for the world of work through career development.

Ms Pemberton made the observation on Wednesday February 6 following the hosting of a successful Career Day at the Gingerland Secondary School, where the Development Bank was one of the organisations that had been invited to put up stands at the Career Day exposition held in the school auditorium.

OFFICERS ENCOURAGE SANDY POINT YOUTH TO PRACTICE GOOD BEHAVIOUR

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 07, 2019 (RSCNPF): Members of the Community Policing Initiative/National Intervention Team explained some of the benefits of good behaviour to the children of the Sandy Point Primary School this week.

This was their first school visit for the year. Officer Lauston Percival addressed the students during their morning assembly and warned the children that bad behaviour could be considered the weight keeping them back from being the best they could be in life.
