CUSTOMS AND EXCISE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES JOIN TOGETHER IN WORSHIP TO MARK THE START OF CUSTOMS WEEK OF ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 28, 2019 (SKNIS): On Sunday, January 27, employees of the Customs and Excise Department joined together to worship at the Zion Moravian Church to mark the start of their week of activities in observance of International Customs Day.

International Customs Day is observed globally on January 26 and recognizes the vital role customs agencies and employees play in maintaining border security. The day was held under the theme “SMART Borders for Seamless Trade, Travel and Transport”

Mr. António Guterres, members of the CARICOM delegation led by Prime Minister Harris discussed among themselves at the Permanent Mission of Barbados to the United Nations.  Pictured seated at centre is Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. THIRTY-FOUR RECRUITS BEGIN JOURNEY TO BECOME POLICE OFFICERS IN ST. KITTS-NEVIS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 28, 2019 (SKNIS): The 43rd police training course began on Monday, January 28, 2019, officially signalling the journey of 34 individuals aspiring to become officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Commandant of the Police Training School, Inspector Eldrin Dickenson, welcomed the 31 males and three females as members of Course 43 and noted that the class is quite diverse as persons hail from St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Santo Domingo, Grenada and Jamaica.
