THREE BILLS TO RECEIVE FIRST READING, WHILE TWO ARE SLATED FOR SECOND READING IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON THURSDAY, JULY 30, 2026

Basseterre, Saint Kitts, July 28, 2026 (SKNIS): The Order Paper has been issued for a sitting of the National Assembly to be held at the National Assembly Chambers, Government Headquarters, Basseterre, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Notice has been given.

Three Bills will receive their first reading, while two are slated for second reading. The government’s good governance legislative agenda continues as it commits itself to transparency, accountability and the Rule of Law.

MV Barima tragedy: Captain, two crew members charged with murder, remanded to prison

The captain of the MV Barima and two other crew members have been jointly charged with murder and were remanded to prison on Tuesday morning.

Those charged for murder are: Kevin Price, called “KP”, a 40-year-old Captain of Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara; Rondell Dwayne Roberts, a 42-year-old Chief Mate of Meadow Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara; and Delon Granderson, a 33-year-old Goods Superintendent of Fellowship, West Coast Demerara.
