VOLUNTEER CORPS PREPARING FOR A BUSY 2019

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 21, 2019 (SKNIS): The Volunteer Corps in St. Kitts is geared up to continue making a positive difference in 2019 and as such, is currently welcoming expressions of interests.

Sharon Cannonier, Youth Officer in the Department of Youth Empowerment, said that January is an important month for the programme. This is because they are conducting volunteer registration and accepting requests for volunteers from individuals or non-profit organizations to execute projects that will benefit a worthy cause.

NEW SANDY POINT POLICE STATION AMONG MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECTS TO COME ON STREAM IN 2019

 

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 21, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis will break ground for the construction of the new Sandy Point Police Station located at Bouncing Hill, Sandy Point. The ground-breaking ceremony commences at 10am.

The construction of this new police station is just one of several major capital projects that will be implemented or continue throughout 2019 that will pump more than $150 million into the local economy to facilitate growth and employment opportunities for hundreds of Kittitians and Nevisians.

Prime Minister Harris welcomes call made to Moravian church pastors

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, January 21, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris is welcoming a call made to pastors by Rev Dr Cortroy Jarvis, Chairman of the Provincial Elders Conference of the Moravian Church in the Eastern West Indies Province, for constructive dialogue between the church and the government.

Rev Jarvis went on to encourage the church leadership to seek audience with the Honourable Prime Minister and to pray for him and the country noting that the church has a responsibility to lift up the Prime Minister in prayer.
