RSS HOSTS DIGITAL EVIDENCE COLLECTION CERTIFICATION COURSE IN ST. KITTS

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 04, 2019 (RSCNPF): The Regional Security System (RSS) is currently hosting a two week course at the Ocean Terrace Inn on Digital Evidence Collection from July 01 – 12.

The course consists of sixteen (16) students hailing from Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, and St. Kitts and Nevis. They include Law Enforcement personnel from Major Crimes, Criminal Investigation Unit, and Beat and Patrol. At the end of the course, the participants will be certified as first responders in digital evidence and law.

FATAL WOUNDING IN NEW TOWN BEING INVESTIGATED

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 03, 2019 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating an incident in the New Town area in which one man was fatally wounded. The incident occurred on July 02, 2019.

Police received a report of a wounding at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They responded and found the body of 58 -year-old Devis Manners lying motionless in his home with multiply stab wounds about his body.

The District Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene and pronounced Manners dead. Personnel from the Forensic Unit processed the scene and took items of evidential value into custody.

One person is in Police custody assisting with the investigation into the incident. Investigations are ongoing.

33K pounds of cocaine seized in one of biggest US drug busts

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — U.S. authorities seized 33,000 pounds, or 15,000 kilograms, of cocaine from a ship at Philadelphia’s port in what they described as one of the largest drug busts in American history.

They said the haul could have been worth more than $1 billion on the street.

The U.S. attorney’s office in Philadelphia announced the massive bust on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, saying that law enforcement agents found the cocaine on a ship at the Packer Marine Terminal. Two members of the crew were arrested and face federal charges.

Agents with dogs swarmed the colossal ship Tuesday afternoon, including one officer who could be seen climbing into the back of a large red container on wheels. Court documents said the bust began Monday.
