Please note that Maria is forecast to pass to the south of St. Kitts and Nevis within the next 36 to 48 hours.

Be reminded that the strongest winds tend to be in the northern quadrant of a hurricane.

The southern quadrant of Irma passed over SKN but this time we will be impacted by the northern quadrant of this Hurricane Maria which is only passing 50 miles to the south of us.

Brace for some heavy pounding by both wind and waves from about Monday night going into Tuesday.

Surely, all the activities for Tuesday in celebration of Independence will be cancelled.
