The People’s Action Movement (PAM) Charity Walk Press Release
(PAM COMS) 14th October 2017 – The People’s Action Movement (PAM) held its Annual Charity Walk on Saturday 14th October that started in the town of Sandy Point, journeyed through St. Paul’s and climaxed in Saddlers Village. The successful health walk has been a staple in the Federation for 30 plus years.
This year, the 8 Mile Charity Walk was hosted by constituency number five (5) and six (6) groups, who prepared a healthy, delicious breakfast and lunch respectively. Among the many supporters of the PAM were the Hon. Eugene Hamilton and Ambassador Jonel Powell. Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Shawn Richards and the Hon. Lindsay Grant were regrettably off island at the time conducting National business.
In honor of our 34th Independence, a number of our activities to mark its milestone were postponed. The Charity Walk has always been held on National Heroes Day, with the exception of this year, which was due to the passing of hurricanes Irma and Maria. The National Heroes’ Independence Block Party is now scheduled for Saturday 21st October at 1:00 p.m. on the Green Tree Lawn in Old Road and our Annual Independence Ball will be held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort on Saturday 18th November at 7:00 p.m.
We take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the Walk and all those who continue to support our events and activities. To those who could not attend but contributed in any way, we say a heartfelt thank you. We do look forward to seeing you at the upcoming PAM activities to be held throughout the year.
