Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 4, 2023 (Ministry of Health): In a remarkable stride towards advanced healthcare and improved quality of life for its citizens, the JNF General Hospital is set to observe the Hemodialysis Week from September 3rd to 10th. The celebratory week began with a church service at Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Old Road, where a short ceremony was held to show appreciation for the current staff of dedicated nurses who give high-quality care to patients of the hemodialysis unit.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 29, 2023 [Ministry of Health] – The second day of the National Consultation on Mental Health witnessed a vibrant exchange of ideas, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health, and supported by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). The consultation aims to serve as a stepping stone toward overhauling the existing mental health laws, some of which have not been updated since 1959, except for a proposed bill in 2002 that never materialized.

CUBAN-TRAINED LOCAL NURSES NOW DESERVEDLY RECOGNIZED AS REGISTERED NURSES IN ST. KITTS AND NEVIS

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, August 29, 2023 (SKNIS) – The Ministry of Health convened a special ceremony today, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, to recognize several local nurses who received their professional medical training in the Republic of Cuba and who are now recognized as registered nurses in St. Kitts and Nevis.
 
A registered nurse is a healthcare professional who has been licensed to provide and coordinate patient care after receiving specialized education and meeting the necessary requirements as set out by the state.
