June 2013, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. With confirmation from general manager, Flor van de Vaart that more than 800 Kittitians and Nevisians have been hired by Hyatt to work at the resort, an elated Right Hon. He reiterated it was part of his St. Kitts-Nevis Labour government’s commitment to expand the number of high-end resorts and boutique hotels and create an abundance of employment opportunities for Kittitians and Nevisians in several areas and at several levels including management of the hospitality industry, enhanced the Federation’s appeal to stay-over travellers, but more importantly to ensure that stay-over visitors travelling to St. Kitts and Nevis would be able to have the type of overall impact that is being sought.

The 126-room resort is home to three restaurants, the first Miraval Life in Balance Spa in the Caribbean and the Reception Hall, which offers indoor event space and wedding venues.

To encourage guests’ island immersion, the Park Hyatt offers a series of curated “journeys” focused on St. Kitts and Nevis history, culture and people.

The itinerary for each journey features local activities and interactions with people that include walks with an island historian, rainforest excursions and visits to the Brimstone Hill Fortress.
