Instead of adding traffic lights, (which Inspector Caines at traffic on a radio talk show says) may be turned off at non peak times and flash orange, why didnt they just add more traffic wardens and help with the unemployment situation?
if the average warden gets $1500.00 per week, then with the excess of $572,000.00 they spent on the traffic lights for just 3 junctions, they could have employed 6 traffic wardens and cover twice the amount of junctions for 5 years and still have change for bonus or those new electric tricycles.
There are now 12 new right turn restrictions as a result of the lights. 10 pictured and the other two at the gas station. This will significantly impact the gas station business. I agree with the new yellow lines in some areas (cayon street, north independence square street and bay road), and that in itself will ease the traffic congestion.
