SKNLP marks International Women’s Day

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 8, 2016 – In observance of International Women’s Day, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party will honour 8 ladies from the number of constituencies on St. Kitts.

The SKNLP will honour the 8 women at an Award Ceremony and a reception in honour of their contributions to society.


The event takes place later this evening at Galaxy on Port Zante.

In celebrating this event which is observed around the world under the theme #PressForProgress, the SKNLP highlighted their commitment to the safety and advancement of women in St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as the importance of them being recognized and praised.

The Party has and will continue to invest greatly in the women of the Federation, as it is essential for the country’s progress and advancement.

For this 2018’s International Women’s Day, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party reiterates its pledge to women, committing to #PressForProgress in women’s safety; #PressForProgress in women’s leadership; #PressForProgress in closing the wage gap between men and women; #PressForProgress in the empowerment of girls and women of St. Kitts and Nevis and
#PressForProgress in reversing this period of attack on women and their families.
