SEARCH OF ABANDONED PROPERTY BEARS RESULTS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 05, 2018 (RSCNPF): Officers from the Special Services Unit and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force reported that one (1) Mac-11 Firearm was found with an empty magazine. The discovery was made while searching an abandoned house at Salt Pond Alley, Irish Town on April 03.
Ten (10) marijuana plants were also uprooted from the same area and eighty-six (86) small ziplock bags with vegetable material suspected to be cannabis was also found. However, no one was held accountable for the find. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Searches on abandoned properties are conducted regularly by the Police. Members of the public should report suspicious activity to the Police to assist with making their searches more effective. Suspicious activity is anything that seems even slightly out of place for the area or during the time of day in which it occurs.
