Development Bank sponsors Tywana Cranston for Miss Culture 2018/19
Charlestown, Nevis, July 17, 2018 (DBSKN) — Twenty-year old Ms Tywana Cranston, one of the four contestants taking part in the 2018 Miss Culture Queen Pageant to be held on Sunday August 5, is governed by the mantra ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’. She is thanking her sponsors, the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis (DBSKN), for giving her the opportunity to excel.
Staff at the Nevis branch office of the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis on the Island Main Road, Stoney Grove, in Charlestown had the opportunity to meet the contestant – Ms Tywana Cranston – who paid a visit to the office on Monday July 16, for an official introduction to members of her new family.
“I am delighted to be sponsored by the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Ms Cranston. “The Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis makes its clients soar like eagles, and I feel the Development Bank has been doing a good job for over the past 37 years it has been in existence. They have wonderful loan programmes such as student loans, business loans and farmers’ loans, and more recently the Fresh Start Programme loans which have revolutionised the way young entrepreneurs do business in the Federation.”
A resident of Government Road in Charlestown, Ms Cranston who is chaperoned by Dr Kamara Louisy is the offspring of Ms Shermell Cranston and Mr Jarmo Finch. She is currently enrolled at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing as part of the University of the West Indies programme offered by the college.
“The pageant will take place on Sunday August 5th at 8:00 pm at the Cultural Complex in Charlestown and I am inviting everyone to come on out and be part of the action,” said Ms Cranston. “It will be a night that you will never forget. I intend to make everyone proud and I surely will do my best.”
At the Development Bank’s branch office in Charlestown the contestant was introduced to the staff by Ms Hazeldine Lewis, Delinquency Management Officer. The Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis-sponsored contestant’s presence was an inspiration to 16-year old Miss Chelsia Nanton, a recent graduate of the Fifth Form of the Charlestown Secondary School, who is currently at the bank on a five-week summer job attachment.
The summer job attachment was made possible through the sterling efforts of the Nevis Island Administration’s Youth and Sports Department. She was posted to the Development Bank after she indicated that she was interested in Office Administration as her first choice and Information Technology as her second choice.
“I was happy to meet the Miss Culture Queen Pageant contestant sponsored by the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, Ms Tywana Cranston,” said Miss Nanton. “On my behalf I would like to wish Ms Tywana Cranston all the best in the Miss Culture Queen Pageant and I hope that she wins and make everyone proud.”
