NHC committed to making Unity Housing Solution Programme a reality
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 22, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — A director of the National Housing Corporation, Ms Natasha Daniel, has said that the corporation is committed to making the Unity Housing Solution Programme a reality as it currently gears towards delivering 300 quality homes.
Ms Daniel made the remarks on Tuesday August 21 at a key presentation ceremony for 30 homes in Constituency Seven under the on-going Unity Housing Solution Programme which was held at Catholic Street Housing Extension in Molineux. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, who delivered the feature address.
“Today, I am proud to stand here and deliver brief remarks on behalf of the National Housing Corporation Board of Directors,” said Ms Daniel. “It brings me immense pleasure to attend another Key Presentation ceremony that falls within the framework of making the Unity Housing Solution Programme a reality.”
The NHC Director noted that it was always very heartening when one makes promises and delivers of them. The ceremony on Tuesday, she added, was yet another in a series of ceremonies where the National Housing Corporation continues to see the Team Unity Government making good on a commitment that it made to the nation.
“Being able to spend your time and money towards a place that you can call your own is a very empowering feeling,” observed Director Daniel. “And each time we gather to turn over more homes to more of our citizens, we are helping to make the dream of home ownership a reality for many more of you, our nation’s citizens.”
According to Director Daniel, the National Housing Corporation continues to work hard to make home ownership a reality noting that to date the team Unity Government has allotted 54 houses spreading across several communities. The homes have been built and delivered in Constituencies Number Eight, Four, Five and Six. The ceremony held on Tuesday August 21 was held to add another 30 houses to the list, in Constituency Number Seven.
“Therefore, we wish to join in the celebration of the 30 new home owners and their families, all of whom are from constituency #7,” said Ms Natasha Daniel. “You know that your parliamentary representative, the Leader of the Team Unity Government, and our nation’s Prime Minister – the Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris- is always on the job working for you his beloved people.”
She also extended the corporation’s appreciation to the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, Minister of Human Settlement et al, who has worked diligently to make the Unity Housing Solution Programme possible. Minister Hamilton was present at the ceremony and also delivered remarks, before keys were presented to the 30 new homeowners. There was a ribbon cutting to officially open two of the houses at the Catholic Street Housing Extension.
The National Housing Corporation has worked to ensure the further upgrading of housing products they deliver to the nation’s citizens. Director Daniel pointed out that quality galvalume roofs are being utilised for each home under the Team Unity Housing Solution Programme, as they believe in providing homes that are safe and secure for citizens, here quoting Isaiah 32:18: “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest”.
