Molineux and Lodge pull off wins in ‘Boys on the Ground’ James Harris T20 Cricket League
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 27, 2018 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — In two exciting games played in the ‘Boys on the Ground’ James Harris T20 Cricket League on Sunday August 26 in Mansion, Molineux beat Christchurch by 36 runs in the first game, while in the second game Lodge beat Tabernacle by 18 runs.
When Molineux came up against Christchurch, Molineux batted first and made 101 runs for six wickets from their 15 overs, where Clayton Skeete made 46 runs and Ronald Williams Jr. made 24 runs. Bowling for Christchurch, Leon Clarke took two wickets for 21 runs.
In the Christchurch batting the team made 65 runs for eight wickets from their 15 overs, with Eldean Huggins making 36 runs. Bowling for Molineux Ronald Williams Jr. took two wickets for 19 runs, while Clayton Skeete took two wickets for three runs. Molineux won the game by 36 runs.
The other game of the afternoon when Lodge came up against Tabernacle, Lodge batted first and made 81 runs all out in 14.2 overs. Craig Benjamin made 18 runs and Keithly Gaskin made 15 runs. Bowling for Tabernacle Charles Carey took four wickets for 11 runs, and saw Akeim Depusoin taking two wickets for 7 runs.
In the Tabernacle batting the team made 63 runs for eight in their 15 overs, which saw Lester Morrishaw making 17 runs and Jermaine Thomas making 13 runs not out. Bowling for Lodge Akaze Richard took two wickets for three runs leaving Lodge to win by 18 runs.
The games slated for Sunday September 2 in the ‘Boys on the Ground’ James Harris T20 Cricket League at the same venue, the Mansion Cricket Ground, between Guyanese and Back Street, and between HMP Ballers and Front Street Limers have been moved to the following week, Sunday September 9.
According to the league organiser, John Palmer, that was necessitated by the fact that there will be a CPL T20 game taking place at Warner Park in Basseterre on that day (Sunday September 2) and all cricketing fans would be expected to be out there supporting the St. Kitts Nevis Patriots.
