CCDA VOWS TO IMPROVE THE SOCIO- ECONOMIC WELL-BEING OF COMMUNITY AT LAUNCH OF GREEN VALLEY SUPER GAS STATION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 18, 2018 (SKNIS): While speaking at the launch of the Cayon Community Development Association (CCDA) and official opening of the Green Valley Super Gas Station on September 17, Parliamentary Representative  for Constituency # 8, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, congratulated the owners, Rawlinson Isaac and Lennox Liburd, for their entrepreneurial initiative in opening the gas station and launching the association that will aim to improve the social and economic well-being of the residents in the community and its environs.

“Today, I am pleased to be standing on these grounds and congratulate my good friends and thank them for the initiative to launch this gas station and the association. Today, we see the potential for something happening here to turn people into financially independent people because the youngsters of today can look at what you are doing and emulate you rather then emulate those who carry around guns,” he said

The association was launched with various goals and objectives, including alleviating poverty, providing health and education services, widening and deepening trust at the community level, promoting a people-based community, bringing social change, and complementing the role and not competing with government agencies, and promoting development.

“I see an opportunity now that you are forming the association to bring others in this community onboard to help develop this place called “Green Valley”. I see an opportunity for you to be an example for the young people so when they look at what is happening they say I want to be like him,” he said.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, wished the owners of the gas station every success in their endeavour and said that the men are exemplars of love, service, patriotism and pride.
“ Our country needs all of its citizens at home in St. Kitts and Nevis here and abroad to rise to the occasion and become true champions of our theme: ‘Love, Service, Patriotism and Pride’, and there is no better exponent of this than my very good friend Lennox Dennis Liburd of Cayon and Rawl Isaac.

The gas station will be opened from Sunday through Saturday from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
