REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 24, 2018 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period September 04-14, 2018.
ARRESTS AND BAIL:
Arrested: Justin Leonard of St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery.
Arrested: Austin Emmanuel Huggins of New Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Threatening Language.
Arrested: Yanick Harris of Stapleton Housing Development was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Resisting Arrest.
Arrested: Omari Tota of George Street, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Wounding With Intent.
Arrested/Bailed: Leroy Walters of Bird Rock was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court.
Arrested/Bailed: Lancelot Niel who resides at Hamilton, Nevis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s Licence. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 04, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Trevor Mason of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 24, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Andrew Thompson of Earle Mourne was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the September 24, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Justice Thomas of Taylor’s Housing was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 04, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Winston ‘Zaba’ Sprouse of Rosemary Lane/McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Posting Placards Without Consent. The offences were committed on the morning of September 04, 2018 in Basseterre. The prisoner allegedly posted a number of Placards depicting three Police Officers with words that were menacing in character on lampposts around Basseterre. The photos were posted without the consent of the owner of the lampposts. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on September 10, 2018.
Arrested/Bailed: Hitesh Tarachand Chandwani who resides at Sun Crest, Bird Road, was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the ffence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 18, 2018.
Bailed: Rodney Baptise of Walwyn Avenue, Buckley’s Estate, who was charged for the offence of Disorderly Conduct by Making Noise, was granted bailed in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 25, 2018.
Bailed: Calvin Hicks of Democrat Street, Buckley’s Site, who was charged for the offence of Larceny, was granted bailed in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 12, 2018 with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and (2) he is to adhere to a geographical curfew and should not be found in the Frigate Bay, Half Moon, Potato Bay or South East Peninsula areas or bail would be revoked.
Bailed: Marseeka Bartlette of Thibou Avenue, who was charged for the offences of Assault, Battery and Throwing Missiles, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on November 05, 2018.
Bailed: Lorin Bartlette of Cole Hill, who was charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 with the following conditions: (1) the applicant is to surrender all travel documents to the registrar of the High Court; (2) the applicant is to visit the Gingerland Police Station three times per week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and (3) the applicant is to be placed under curfew between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at his place of residence.
Bailed: Jervis Liburd of Pond Hill, who was charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 with the following conditions: (1) the applicant is to surrender all travel documents to the registrar of the High Court; (2) the applicant is to visit the Gingerland Police Station three times per week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and (3) the applicant is to be placed under curfew between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at his place of residence.
Bailed: Alexis Decosta of Sandy Point, who charged for Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s Licence, was granted bail in the like sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on October 01, 2018.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, Presided over Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill-Hector, the following was reported:
– In the matter involving Abkim Bryan, alias Esco, of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point, who was charged for Attempted Murder and Robbery on 4/1/17, Her Honour was not satisfied that the witnesses properly identified the accused and, as a result, she ruled that a Prima Facie case was not made out and it was discharged.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Abandoned Properties: Police continued to execute searches on abandoned properties and empty lots. Most recently, searches were done in the following areas: Prickley Pear Alley, West Bourne Ghaut, Sandy Point, Lodge Project, Keys and Saddlers.
