ENTREPRENEURS IN ST. KITTS-NEVIS ENCOURAGED TO UTILIZE TRAINING OFFERED BY NEDD
Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 01, 2018 (SKNIS):ย Officials from the National Entrepreneurial Development Division (NEDD) encouraged prospective and existing small business owners to capitalize on the training offered by the division in the Ministry of International Trade. NEDD offers regular training designed to enhance businesses.

Philip Browne, Director of Industry, Commerce and NEDD, while appearing on โWorking for Youโ on October 31, 2018, noted that entrepreneurs need to make time for training opportunities because of the dynamic and competitive nature of businesses.

โSo we are encouraging persons to avail themselves to training because to run a business there are standards, especially if you are going to compete, and we need to understand that we are not competing against the person who we are seeing now, but the person who we donโt even seeโฆ,โ he said, noting that business owners always have to stay one step ahead of the competition and informed of the latest skill setsย and technologies in their respective industries. โSo we would want to encourage persons to avail themselves to the opportunities for training and technical assistance as provided by NEDD.โ

He stated that the division started to conduct community outreach programmes in 2009, which saw an influx of trainees. He added that NEDD has been given additional resources in order to promote the services, and they anticipate a greater influx of entrepreneurs who want the technical assistance.
