ACKEEM CONNOR CONVICTED AND SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR ROBBERY

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 22, 2018 (RSCNPF): Twenty-three-year-old Ackeem Connor of St. Paul’s was sentenced to serve time in prison for the offence of Robbery at a High Court hearing on November 16, 2018.

Connor was indicted on March 24, 2017 for the offence.  He was found guilty on October 09, 2018. The prescribed penalty for the offence of Robbery is twenty (20) years with or without hard labour. His Lordship intended a sentence of seven (7) years, but in considering the aggravating and mitigating factors, the fact that the prisoner has no previous convictions, and the time spent in pre-sentence custody – one (1) year, five (5) months and eighteen (18) days – Connor was sentenced to five (5) years, two (2) months and ten (10) days in prison.
