Ms. Juricia Powell from the Sandy Point SPIRIT group Black San to visit the Caribbean Youth Violence Prevention Summit in Guyana.
The Sandy Point SPIRIT group who is responsible for the Black San’ is proud to have sent off one of our members, Ms. Juricia Powell to the first ever Caribbean Youth Violence Prevention Summit in Guyana. Ms. Juricia Powell is the Youth Coordinator in the organization who is responsible for activities such as recognizing and awarding outstanding students in leadership at CEMS each year , she is responsible for the collaboration with Avalon Medical Laboratory to distribute Christmas Gifts to pre-schoolers in Sandy Point every year and she also coordinates the Family Carnival event during the Black San’ festivities.
“ I am very happy for the opportunity granted to me to be able to represent Sandy Point and my Group SPIRIT. I am happy that I took up the challenge of being a member and for the growth and development I’ve gathered since my three years being a part of the group” says Ms. Powell.
We are confident that she will utilize all the knowledge gained to assist the community in any way possible and we will continue to seek more opportunities to develop our members.
Ms. Powell will be in Guyana for four days attending workshops, discussions and more while at the summit.
