Molineux end losing streak with an emphatic win in Constituency #7 Domino League

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 19, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Molineux Domino Club on Sunday August 18 ended their losing streak in the first round of the 2019 Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition by walloping a hapless Phillips Domino Club 13-0.

The encounter between the two teams was due to have taken place in the first segment of the first round on Thursday July 25 at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux, but it did not happen as Phillips did not turn up. It was rescheduled for Sunday August 4 for the same venue, and again it did not happen this time around as Molineux were a no show.

The Constituency Number Seven Domino League committee put its put down and gave them a new date, and venue, and an ultimatum that the team which would fail to appear would forfeit the game and the team present would carry home a 13-0 win.

The two teams finally met at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project on Sunday August 18 where Molineux was not in any compromising mood and at the end of the over three-hour game, one would be excused to think that Phillips did not turn and had lost by default. They were there but they received a beating they will never forget. Molineux which had lost all their five games took an astounding 13-0 victory to end their losing streak.

In games played in the sixth segment of the first round of this year’s edition of the Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition on Thursday August 15, defending champions Parsons beat former champions Unity Patriots 13-7 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project, home of the former champions.

Two games took place at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, where Small Corner Bar beat Giants 13-3 and Guinness beat Unstoppable 13-9; Christchurch beat Molineux 14-7 in a game played at Domino House in Mansion Village; while Sylvers got a 13-0 win over Phillips who failed to turn for their encounter at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village.

Seventh segment of play in the first round of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition will be on Tuesday August 20 at four venues. The Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux will host two games – Saddlers against Unstoppable, and Molineux against Giants.

Defending champions Parsons will travel to Mansion Village to face Christchurch at Domino House; Unity Patriots will be home against Phillips at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project; and Small Corner Bar will travel to Bernett Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, for a game against home team Guinness.
